Using Navi with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides

Navi can create and edit documents, update spreadsheets, and build slide decks — all by chat. No template gymnastics, no copy-paste from the wrong window.

Google Docs

Navi can create new docs, read existing ones, append text, and find-and-replace.

Draft a doc from scratch

Prompt Create a new Google Doc titled "Q2 OKR proposal." Draft three objectives with three key results each, based on the goals I've been adding to my "Q2 planning" Notion page. Leave space at the bottom for me to fill in dependencies.

Append meeting notes

Prompt Open my "Weekly 1:1 with Sarah" doc and append a new section for today's date. Add three bullets: what we talked about, what I'm working on this week, and what I need from her. I'll fill them in.

Find-and-replace across a long doc

Prompt In the "Customer agreement" doc, replace every instance of "Acme Corp." with "Acme Holdings Inc."

Google Sheets

Navi can read cell values from a range, write to ranges, append rows, and create new spreadsheets.

Log something to a tracker

Prompt Append a row to my "Sales pipeline" sheet. Columns: Company = Acme, Contact = Sarah Chen, Stage = Proposal, Value = 50000, Last touch = today's date.

Summarize what's in a sheet

Prompt Read the "This week" tab of my Metrics sheet. Summarize the numbers in a three-bullet update I can paste into our Monday standup Notion page.

Create a spreadsheet from a template in your head

Prompt Create a new Google Sheet titled "Q2 headcount plan." Add columns for Role, Team, Hiring manager, Target start date, Status. Leave it empty — I'll fill it in.

Google Slides

Navi can create presentations and add slides.

Start a deck

Prompt Create a new Google Slides presentation titled "Board meeting — May." First slide: title slide. Second slide: "Highlights." Third: "Lowlights." Fourth: "Plan for next quarter." I'll drop the content in myself.

Add a slide to an existing deck

Prompt Add a new slide to the end of my "All-hands — May" deck. Title: "Q&A." Layout: title with body text.

Tips

Chain with Calendar and Notion

The real power comes from combining. After a meeting ends:

Prompt My Q2 review meeting with Sarah just ended. Create a Google Doc titled "Q2 review — [today]." Write a short recap based on the calendar event, the attendee list, and any recent updates on my "Q2 planning" Notion page. Share it with Sarah as a commenter.

Ask Navi to show what it read

Especially with Sheets: "Tell me which cells you read" helps you sanity-check that Navi pulled the right range before you trust the answer.
